Stop Fighting Your Yard
A landscape designed to work with your property — becoming easier to care for over time.
Landscapes work best when treated as part of nature, not separate from it.
We design, restore, and maintain landscapes across Muskegon and Ottawa Counties — using native and climate-adapted plants to create yards that stabilize over time instead of needing constant upkeep.
The result is a landscape that looks cared for, functions naturally, and holds up in West Michigan conditions.
Serving Muskegon, Norton Shores, Spring Lake, Grand Haven, and nearby West Michigan communities.
A short visit to understand your yard and explain realistic options — no pressure, just clarity.

What It's Like to Work With Us
A simple, clear process so you know what to expect at every step.
Begin With a Site Visit
We start by walking the property together. If you have a clearly defined project in mind, a Site Assessment helps determine scope and feasibility. If you're seeking clarity about what's possible, a Strategic Consultation provides direction, plant guidance, and long-term vision. You'll leave knowing what's realistic and what your options are.

Clarify the Right Path
From there, we determine the appropriate next step for your property. That may include targeted improvements, a full ecological design plan, installation of defined projects, or ongoing maintenance and stewardship. Not every landscape needs a complete redesign. We scale the work to fit your goals, budget, and long-term vision.

Implement Thoughtfully
If installation is part of the plan, we finalize scope, approve the proposal, and schedule the work. A deposit secures your installation date and plant material before we begin. If maintenance is your priority, we establish a stewardship rhythm that supports ecological health over time — managing weeds, monitoring plant establishment, and adjusting as the landscape matures.

Support Over Time
Landscapes evolve, and so do your goals. We remain available for seasonal adjustments, phased expansions, ecological problem-solving, and long-term stewardship — ensuring your landscape continues to grow in both beauty and function.

Our Approach to Landscape Stewardship
Every landscape provides something—shade, beauty, habitat, clean water, living soil. At Earth Stewards, our work begins with a sense of gratitude for what the land already offers.
Landscape stewardship, to us, means caring for the living systems that support the places we call home. By working with natural processes—healthy soil, water movement, and resilient plant communities—we help landscapes thrive while giving something back to the earth that sustains us.
Start With Observation
Before making changes, we take time to understand how a landscape functions. Soil conditions, drainage patterns, sunlight, and existing plant communities all tell a story about what the land needs.
Work With the Living System
Rather than forcing landscapes into rigid designs, we work with natural patterns already present on the site. Plant communities, soil health, and water movement guide our decisions.
Stewardship Over Time
Healthy landscapes grow and evolve. Our goal is to guide landscapes toward stability and resilience so they become easier to care for while supporting the broader ecosystem.
We also collaborate on community and conservation projects — implementation partnerships →

Shaded Garden Rescue
Diagnosed a struggling garden where sun-loving plants were fighting a losing battle in deep shade. Completely redesigned the space with shade-tolerant perennials, hostas, astilbe, and ferns that now thrive in low-light conditions—creating a lush, layered sanctuary that finally works with the site instead of against it.

Garden Cleanup & Reorganization
Transformed a chaotic, overgrown backyard garden buried under pallets, weeds, and years of neglect. Cleared debris, reorganized raised bed placement, mulched pathways, and created clean, functional growing spaces the homeowner can actually use and maintain.

Holiday Entrance Planters
Created welcoming seasonal planters for Superior Monument Co's front entrance. Designed elegant, professional winter arrangements with evergreens, birch branches, and festive touches that greet visitors and clients throughout the holiday season.

Condo Patio Garden Refresh
Revitalized a neglected back porch garden at a condo. Cleared overgrown weeds, removed debris and dead plant material, cleaned hardscape surfaces, and gave the space a fresh start—ready for the homeowner to enjoy again.
